The raison d'être of Istanbul Technical University is to expand the boundaries of knowledge in science, technology, and art, and to respond to the needs of society through their applications. Aiming to be a leading international university with its expertise and creativity in science, technology, and art, our university’s quality policy, based on the principles of participation, transparency, and continuous improvement in education, research, and administrative structure is to establish, implement, and ensure the sustainability of a quality management system that:

• Updates its education and training in accordance with change, development, and contemporary needs,

• Enables our university to compete globally within the framework of specialization and diversity principles,

• Supports interdisciplinary and internationally interactive education, training, and research to allow individuals to develop their talents and competencies and to pursue original, innovative approaches,

• Generates R&D outputs at a global level, remains innovation and entrepreneurship-oriented, and strengthens university-industry cooperation,

• Provides autonomy on the basis of accountability,

• Enhances the sense of well-being, belonging, and loyalty among all stakeholders,

• Ensures the sustainability of accreditation, as well as internal and external audit mechanisms.
